Bars Mayfair

Follow us down the rabbit hole and into the bars of Mayfair…

Head left out of The Townhouse and then take a left onto Curzon street. Walk down until you hit the 6th right turn which will be South Audley Street. Continue up and passed Grosvenor Square and you will arrive at a stunning old church on your right. (15 minute walk)

Mercato Metropolitano Mayfair - The Grade I listed building used to be known as the ‘American Church’ as it was just around the corner from the US Embassy and President Eisenhower and Eleanor Roosevelt both attended services there. It was deconsecrated in the 70s and only recently had a £5m restoration to bring it back to its former glory. The Mercato operates a walk-in policy only, head there on weeknights to make sure not to wait too long. Think great drinks and an extensive selection of street food.

Head back on yourself to Grosvenor square, straight onto Brook Street and turn right onto Davies Street, keeping left onto Berkeley square. You will see the famous Sexy Fish on the corner at which point turn left where you will arrive at the magical Mr Foggs Residence. Piero, our Bar Manager, says this is one of his ultimate favourites in the area. This eccentric Mayfair residence of the famous British adventurer, Phileas J. Fogg, Esq., serves as the perfect spot for a dazzling soirée. Indulge in delectable worldly libations, surrounded by a wondrous collection of artefacts from around the world. Step outside into the Botanical Garden, adorned in flowers, fauna and boasting a retractable roof. Quirky, fun but with great drinks.

After the magical world of Foggs, continue your evening as follows; proceed on Bruton Lane, where you will arrive on Conduit Street, take a right and cross over the road to arrive at one of London’s most popular locations, Sketch. Walking inside you’ll immediately feel your feet being drawn into step along the hopscotch court drawn into the floor. Sketch London is fuelled by art. This is infused in the walls, the floors, the bathrooms and in the food itself. It makes for a venue that looks like nowhere else in the city, or dare we say the world. A truly unique selection of food and drinks.

We hope you visited the loos before leaving, they are part of what makes Sketch so unique… and so Instagram-famous! Next in line, a bar that is highly renowned in London, Kwant. Proceed on to Conduit Street and then turn right at the traffic lights onto Regents Street. The second right is called Heddon Street, a beautiful little road in Mayfair. Kwant will be the door next to MoMo’s. An intimate but refined décor, Kwant is truly unique. It was ranked 47/50 in “The Worlds best bars” last year.

"Subtly tropical decor which is reminiscent of an eccentric gentleman’s drawing room, furnished with light coloured Chesterfield sofas and wooden panelling." Speak to Erik, he is one of the best mixologists in town… Try their Negronis “Benisimo”!

After the refurbished Church, the enchanting world, the spectacular loos and the delicious Negronis, let a friendly black taxi take you back to the townhouse for a signature cocktail at The Dandy Bar, our address is 27-41 Half Moon St, Mayfair, London W1J 7BG, just in case you’ve forgotten…
